ASSESSMENT DATABASE
As we learn more about dementia, we are also learning the previous standards for dementia assessments are not accurate and are not appropriate for advanced stages. I have developed a database, designed by a data analyst, that allows you to generate reports at the touch of a button. You are able to compare different activities by timeframes along with a broad selection of other analytics. Some possibilities are:
- We now know that you can't simply categorize a person with dementia as a simple number. People have good days and bad days and even good moments and bad moments. Sometimes activities can even bring out great moments. With these analytics you can easily spot these trends, allowing you to focus on the activities that bring the best results.
- Understand interests and retained abilities by comparing performance between activities, allowing you to see where each resident excels.
- Assess performance by brain lobes. I match the activities to the corresponding lobes of the brain to remove the guesswork from you.
- Compare data daily, monthly, or yearly--you determine the timeframe. Imagine the ability to catch and even put a date to a sudden cognitive decline. Sickness can greatly reduce abilities; many times the data can help you catch a silent issue such as a UTI before it becomes catastrophic. Many dementia specialists have been moving to baseline tests with yearly reevaluations. By using this wrap-around program along with the assessment database, you have a powerful tool that provides far more than a quick office visit.
Although I provide free assessments, the database is separate from the content I provide.
